The meeting between the two leaders primarily focused on the “Wakhan Corridor”, a vital trade route connecting the two countries. This corridor connects the eastern region of Afghanistan to China’s Xinjiang province.
The rehabilitation of the Wakhan Corridor will boost Afghanistan’s direct trade with China, which will accelerate the economic development of the country. This corridor will not only make the geographical location of Afghanistan more important but also help to connect China with the countries of Central Asia and South Asia.
