Under the new “Ticket Refund Policy” introduced by Pakistan Railways (PR), passengers who cancel their tickets purchased at the point of sale (POS), up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure will be entitled to a 90% refund of the tickets price.

If cancellations occur between 24 to 48 hours prior to train departure, the refund amount drops to 80%. For cancellations within 24 hours of departure, a 70% refund will be granted.

If the cancellation is made within two hours of the train’s scheduled departure, a 50% refund will be issued. The refund policy of RailwaysTickets will also apply to tickets purchased through “RABTA” App.

One significant change under the new refund policy that if the train is delayed by 6 hours or more, the full amount will be refunded. The refund process for tickets purchased at the point of sale (POS) will require passengers to submit their original ticket along with a copy of their ID card at the same counter where the ticket was bought.

Refunds for online tickets will only be possible through the same online service, through which the purchase was made. Online tickets will also have the same refund policy as for POS.

Under the new policy, online purchased tickets will not be refunded after train departure. The online ticket can’t be canceled within 90 minutes of the scheduled departure time of the train.
