The Commissioner of Animal Husbandry has taken the notice of illegal slaughter of bulls, buffaloes, goats and sheep.
In a letter addressed to the chief secretaries of Punjab and Sindh, the commissioner has directed that the slaughter of bulls and buffaloes under three years of age be prohibited.
The letter also calls for halting the slaughter of these animals until they reach the age of 10 years, which is considered their full usable age.
Additionally, the commissioner of Animal Husbandry has stressed that goats and sheep should not be allowed to slaughter before they reach to one and a half year, with a minimum recommended age of four years for slaughter.
