The National Institute of Health (NOC) has reported another case of Polio from Karachi East.
The victim was male child resident of Karachi East. Regional Reference Laboratory for anti-polio has confirmed the wild polio virus type 1 (WPV1) in a male child.
According to the NOC, the child showed symptoms of polio on December 21, 2024. The case has been placed in the list of 2024.
In the year 2024, 2 polio cases were reported from Karachi East and 20 polio cases have been reported from across Sindh.
After the new polio case, the total number of polio cases reported from across the country in 2024 rose to 70.
