A severe cold wave has claimed the lives of 63 homeless individuals including a woman in Karachi, according to the Chhipa Foundation, a charity organization.

Chaudhry Shahid, a spokesperson for the foundation, revealed shocking fact that since December, 43 bodies have been recovered from various locations across the city.

“Out of the 43 bodies found, 38 were buried, while some were handed over to their families. As of now, 25 bodies remain in the Chhipa Mortuary,” Shahid reported.

Shahid confirmed that the victims, including one woman, did not have access to warm clothing or blankets to shield themselves from the harsh weather.

The spokesperson claimed that of the 43 victims, 13 homeless were allegedly drug addicts who were unable to withstand the extreme cold due to a lack of protection.
