Afghan ministry of transport suspends two major companies after Ghazni tragic accidents

After the to two tragic passenger bus accidents in Ghazni province on the same day, which claimed 52 lives and left more than 70 injured, ministry of transport has suspended the operations of two major passenger transport companies, Mohmand Baba and Mirwais Khan Nika transport across the country.

The decision was made following a high level emergency meeting held at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, chaired by Mullah Abdul Salam Haidari, the Deputy Minister for Road Transport.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Transport, an emergency meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Interior Affairs and representatives of the General Directorate of Traffic.

In the meeting, the reasons and responsible of recent deadly accidents along the Kabul-Kandahar highway was discussed. The officials unanimously reached the decision to suspend the operations of Mohmand Baba and Mirwais Khan Nika transport companies across Afghanistan.

Moreover, the instruction has been given to thorough investigation into the causes of these tragic incidents, so as to prevent similar incidents in the future.
