The family allegedly attacked anti-polio team in the Korangi No 1/5 Rangers Ground slum area in the limits of ​​Korangi police station.

According to the police, the anti-polio worker along with two police personnel visited the area to administer oral polio vaccine (OPV) to children under ongoing anti-polio campaign.

Upon reaching a house to administer OPV to children, the family allegedly refused to allow their children to be vaccinated when the polio team insisted, tension escalated and the family attacked the polio workers with shovels.

As a result, the polio team includes Rabia, Saba, Dr. Khalid, Police Constable Israr, Jahangir, Tawfiq and Lady Police Constable Aniza Naz sustained injuries.

On receiving the information, when a heavy police force reached the spot, the family reportedly reacted by pelting stones at police.  

The police immediately took control of the situation and arrested four women and two young boys and shifted them to the police station.

The women taken into custody are Samina wife Sheena Khan, Meha Jabeen wife Sulaiman, Amna daughter Naseem Gul, Iqra daughter Sheena Khan and Gul Imran Momin and Sufyan Shahnawaz.
